Dates to note:
July 2007 – Cyprus Pound to fixed against the Euro, as a lead in to the transition from CYŁ to Euro on 1 Jan 2008 .
Jan 2008. – Cyprus changes over from CYŁ to the Euro.
It is anticipated that prices of property will steadily gain momentum in the lead up to the changeover.
Jan 2008. There is a very strong indication that VAT will be applicable to land purchases from this date. No official documents to confirm this to date. If you are looking to purchase land with a view to building at a later date, it is a good idea to do this sooner rather than later.
